What do you know about the Pontiac Vibe?

The Pontiac Vibe is a compact car that was sold by Pontiac from 2002 to 2010. It was jointly developed by General Motors along with Toyota which manufactures the mechanically similar Toyota Matrix. The Pontiac Vibe is essentially a Toyota Corolla. The hatchback was built alongside Matrix at the GM-TOYOTA NUMMI Plant in California.

Although the Vibe and Matrix are similar designs, the two brands use different components for their heating systems. These components include the air conditioning compressor, the heater hoses, the heater core, and the serpentine belt.

Features:

The car features a Toyota-built 1.8, 16-valve engine. It also offers 91.4 cubic feet passenger volume (all seats up) and 20.1 cubic feet cargo volume. It’s also incredibly useful with the ability to fold all seats down for maximum cargo capacity. And as the publication rounded up customer reviews for the Vibe, the love remained. Many car research sites feature reviews praising the Vibe for its attributes with four or five stars.

Pontiac Vibe (2nd generation)

The second-generation FWD Vibes was redesigned, along with the Matrix, for the 2009 model year. The new Vibe’s design is sporty, with clean lines, minimal overhangs, and wheels pushed to the corners. This gives the vehicle a muscular stance. It also offers computerized traction-control and anti-lock brakes. Rear disc brakes are standard on all models and luggage racks are no longer standard order.

The Discontinuation

On April 27, 2009, General Motors(GM) announced the discontinuation of all Pontiac models by 2010. It was later announced that Vibe production would end in August 2009, and the last Vibe left the assembly line on August 17, 2009.
